Getting to Knoydart for your walking holiday

Part of the pleasure of Knoydart is the journey in on “the Road to the Isles” passing Glens, lochs and mountains. The road winds through spectacular scenery and past the famous Glenfinnan memorial to Bonnie Prince Charlie at Loch Shiel.

One of the “Great Train Trips of the World” is on the Jacobite steam train from Fort William to Mallaig.

Whether you drive or arrive by Public transport

Catch the “Western Isles” ferry from Mallaig on the mainland to Inverie. There are two sailings per day at 10.15 and 14.15. In the summer the schedule is 5 days a week Monday to Friday. In the winter the boat goes Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The journey takes approximately 45 mins.
