Walking in Knoydart - The Local Area
For all its remoteness there is no shortage of activity and things to do on Knoydart...

Walking in Knoydart
The Knoydart Peninsula is renowned for its walking trails, people come from all over the world to experience the wilderness firsthand, and because Knoydart is only accessible by boat or foot, the trails traverse spectacular moutain glens. Many of our guests come to climb the four famous Munros at Knoydart... You have to be fit though, as they are over 3000 feet.

Stalking in Knoydart
Stalking and Hunting of Red Deer are part of an overall deer management policy that runs
within the whole Knoydart Peninsula and further South East into Lochaber... Stalking is provided by a professional deerstalker with over 20 years' experience in the field using traditional methods. By prior arrangement.
Photographic stalking and wildlife watching are also available on request.

Fishing in Knoydart
Catch “the one that usually gets away” at Knoydart. Fishing is available on the nearby River Inverie and the Kilchoan Estate Lochs. The Inverie River is fed from Loch an dubhlochain and contains salmon, sea trout and brown trout. Kilchoan Trout and Salmon Season 15th March to 6th October.
Sea Fishing and whale spotting can also be arranged prior to arrival.

Nightlife ( in Knoydart?)
For a night out visit the Old Forge, the most remote pub in the British Isles, or Pier House Restaurant or Doune Marine. All offer local produce and seafood and are highly recommended... As the evening wears on ceilidhs are part of the scene at the Old Forge. Well worth it.
Guided nature walks are available with the Knoydart Rangers.
Maps available in the village at the Knoydart Foundation.
